The 30-A Songwriters Festival takes place during the Martin Luther King Holiday (January 13-15, 2012), and Scenic Highway 30A will again become the music highway when an internationally-prominent lineup of singer-songwriters perform in over 15 venues along SoWal Beaches.
The 30A Songwriters Festival for 2012 include the Indigo Girls, Rodney Crowell, The Bangles, Shawn Mullins, Sam Bush Band and Matthew Sweet.
The third annual festival is produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), presented by Visit South Walton and sponsored by Seaside and 30A.com. The event brings together talented songwriters and musicians from around the country to perform in unique venues amid a backdrop of brilliant white sand beaches, turquoise waters and stunning architecture. The three-day festival will feature more than 125 musicians and over 250 performances in venues ranging from intimate listening rooms to spacious outdoor amphitheaters.

The Seaside School Half Marathon (which includes a 5K) is annually run in early March and March 4, 2012 will be the race's 10th anniversary. The Race attracts over 3000 runners and has quickly become one of the premier races in the Southeast. In 2008, Runner's World magazine gave it the “Best Schwag” award. This year, race planners received three times as many interested participants as they could register. Those who make the cutoff enjoy some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in the country, amazing community support, a pre-race expo, free barbecue by Birmingham's Jim 'N Nick's and free beer for racers, live music at the after-party, a custom-designed medal and tech T-shirt and yes, a Vera Bradley tote bag.

The Seaside Repertory Theatre, founded in the spring of 2001, has become Northwest Florida’s premier professional theatre company. Celebrating its tenth season, the REP has built itself into a first-rate regional theatre, attracting some of the finest talent from around the country. The REP’s host of talented theatre professionals and group of dedicated volunteers work together to entertain over 25,000 people each year. ArtsQuest has developed into one of the country's top juried fine arts shows, attracting thousands of people each year over Mother's Day weekend.
After seven years on Grayton Beach's Hotz Avenue, another seven in the historic setting of Eden State Gardens and then another seven in the Village of Baytowne Wharf, the Festival is getting closer to its roots with its move back to Scenic Highway 30A in the
